Every ag company does the big things well—stocking seed and treating it. We’re equally interested in getting all the particulars right. Seed selection used to be a small part of the equation but it becomes more important every year. (In fact, it’s so important that Ag Partners added a staff seed agronomist—something few ag retail companies have.)

There are seed choices Producer A should plant on a specific field that wouldn’t make any sense on Producer B’s farm. And since choosing seed isn’t really about which number won the local plot last fall it takes someone who’s trained to consider all those variables.

Ag Partners' agronomy customers are fortunate because our CSRs have an intimate knowledge of their fields. They can make a seed plan—we call it a field-by-field seed prescription, actually based on what yield monitor data tells us, what SoilMap tells us, and what yield goals a producer sets. That’s how we get the particulars right.
